Nottingham is one of the largest Cities in the Midlands of England. For the more energetic there is the National Water Sports Centre and Country Park with an Olympic-standard 2000m water sports course with rowing, canoeing, and an an artificial canoe slalom course. Nottingham City also has one of the most sophisticated urban environments with a canal quarter, more café-bars and elegant restaurants than any comparable city, an enviable reputation for clubs, theatres, including the Nottingham Playhouse, cinemas and galleries. And being one of the top four retail centres it is a perfect City for weekend breaks and short breaks for those who like to shop till they drop.
