The Museum is dedicated to the social, industrial and family history of the parishes of Pinxton and South Normanton. Displays and presentations relate to John King inventor of the Mine Cage Detaching Hook; The Sixth Oldest Railway in the World; the celebrated Pinxton China Factory and Jedediah Strutt the inventor of the Derby Rib Stocking Machine. The Museum also houses many local photographs and domestic, farm, craft and mining utensils.
